– WinCE là một hệ điều hành riêng biệt, ko phải là bản thu gọn của desktop Windows.

– WinCE kernel có thể chạy trong dưới 1 MB bộ nhớ.

– Những platform xây dựng trên nền core WinCE: AutoPC, PocketPC 2000, PocketPC 2002, Windows Mobile 2003, Windows Mobile 2003 SE, Windows Mobile 5.0, Windows Mobile 6, Smartphone 2002, Smartphone 2003

• Windows Mobile

– Windows Mobile là 1 platform con trên nền WinCE. —> developer ko cần phải chú ý can thiệp sâu tới tương tác phần cứng mà tập trung thiết kế sản phẩm.

– Phân loại:

1. Windows Mobile Classic (Pocket PC)
2. Windows Mobile Standard (SmartPhone)
3. Windows Mobile Professional (PocketPC Phone Edition)

– Windows Mobile 5.0 hỗ trợ giao tiếp USB 2.0 —> dễ dàng truy cập vào ko gian lưu trữ của PPC và có thể dùng nó như 1 flash drive
